Wednesday, August 27, 2008 Here is a nifty medium-sized metal mailbox that has been magically transformed to look like an honest-to-goodness John Deere tractor. A friend and I made this for my dad a few years ago who has since passed away. I've been holding onto this mailbox but I'm pretty sure the "covenant controlled community" we live in wouldn't appreciate this piece of fine art mounted somewhere in my front yard as much as I would. So, off to a loving home it must go...
The yellow scoop part lifts up so that the mail can be retrieved from the inside. The tires are real go-cart tires and they spin around. This mailbox would need a little bit of touch-up paint, and my dad's house address would have to be painted over as well, but other than that, this mailbox really would love to provide many more years of service to whomever will have it. I should also mention that this thing is somewhat heavy...it probably weighs about the same as a block of ice or a really well-fed medium sized wheaton terrier.
$30, going towards my wedding in November. Thanks for looking. :)
